In the Montaigu region of the Vendée, the Chausselière lake is a 14-hectare stretch of fresh water located in La Guyonnière.
Popular with fishermen who like to sit on the pontoons along its banks, it is also a favorite meeting place for families with its leisure center: water sports activities are offered during the summer.
There are also many land-based recreational activities to be enjoyed on the waterfront, such as blowpipe shooting, orienteering and archery.
Appreciated by walkers and sportsmen, the lake of La Chausselière is the starting point of a hiking trail of a little more than 9 km.
Its banks are also home to picnic areas and children’s playgrounds .
You can also eat at the P’tit Bar, an associative outlet for cold drinks and ice cream, or at the restaurant l’Étoile du Lac to enjoy a sublime view while feasting on local products.

The banks of the lake
The lakefront is designed for relaxation and offers outdoor recreation for all ages.
Our camping with fishing pond is the ideal place to relax. All around the lake, 18 pontoons allow you to fish for carp or pike, or simply to relax in front of the water.
A 1,600-meter trail circles the water body. It is possible to walk, run or rent bicycles on site for a family outing.
The model makers of the Montaigu club regularly put on a show with their remote-controlled model boats.
On the base side, the beach facilitates the launching of sailing, rowing and pedal boats.
Choose your aquatic activity
Would you rather lounge in the sun, go for a paddle ride or learn to sail? While staying at the Lac de la Chausselière, each day will bring its surprise, and you can easily alternate quiet strolls at the water’s edge and frantic races in a canoe.
The nautical base of the lake proposes a multitude of nautical leisures: rent of canoe-kayak from 1 to 3 places, dinghy boats, or stand up paddle.
Sailing courses and baptisms are organized for all ages.
If you prefer to stay on the banks, you can choose between fishing, archery, orienteering, blowpipe, walking, or lazing on the terrace of the P’tit Bar.
In August, the preserved setting of the Chausselière lake welcomes the “Étoiles du lac” nights: an opportunity to observe the sky, to attend storytelling walks and to discover the fauna of the lake’s banks.

Water activities near Nantes
Looking for a nautical base in Nantes? In season, you can enjoy the many water activities, every afternoon from 2:00 to 6:30 pm.
Moreover, on reservation the week, you have the possibility of renting :
- Canoeing, from 1 to 3 places.
- Dinghy 420/470.
- Stand Up Paddle.
- Teen/adult bikes (26″/28″) and kids (24″).

Orientation games
The leisure center also offers the possibility of orienteering games.
There are 3 different levels to find your way. Armed with your map and your compass, it’s time for an adventure! And discover the beauty of the setting at the same time.
Running, walking and cycling
The 1.6 kilometer tour of the lake allows you to take a leisurely walk in the middle of nature on flat footpaths that are accessible to everyone. This ideal setting is a breath of fresh air.
Moreover, from the lake, if you wish, you can take footpaths and thus practice running or other routes for cycling. There is no shortage of trails and activities.
The leisure center offers a wide range of activities for everyone’s taste.
Model making
You can also sail your remote-controlled boat on the lake from the Vendée water sports centre.
For the biggest fans and the biggest players, there is an area entirely dedicated to model making.
