Our unmissable hikes in the Vendée

Want to go hiking in the Vendée around the Lac de la Chausselière campsite? You are right! The Vendée is home to many hiking trails that will allow you to discover our beautiful region from another angle.

On foot, starting from our campsite in the Vendée at La Guyonnière, we have selected for you 4 hiking routes ranging from 10 to 25 km.

The hike de La Chausselière

This hiking trail is located in the commune of La Guyonnière in Vendée. This route ofapproximately 9.5 km represents an average of 2h30 of walking .

This is an ideal walk for the whole family, just follow the yellow marked route numbered 3 . The start is on the banks of the Chausselière lake and takes you through various villages: Le Rivage, La Saulnerie, La Grillère and La Clairbaudière. You will also discover on the way the Lake of La Chausselière which extends over an area of 34 hectares and where you will be able to observe the typical fauna and flora of the Vendée bocage. But also, the Bois Dauphin which extends over nearly 3 hectares and which is the place of predilection of the sessile oak, the chestnut tree and the cherry tree.

The hike of Meslay

This circuit of Meslay excursion is a course ofapproximately 13 km which represents on average 3h15 of walk. This easy hike is easily done with the family.

The starting point is at the Place des Douves in La Guyonnière and the route is marked out in yellow.

This path is rich in discoveries, indeed you will take full sight with the religious heritage of Meslay. Indeed, you will be able to observe the Abbey and the Chapel of Meslay built in 1867 by the abbot of Suyrot on the ruins of a medieval castle. You will not miss the Grotto of Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes built in 1876 as well as the Calvary of Father Montfort erected also by the Abbot of Suyrot.

The hike The Ponds

The hiking trail “Les Etangs” is located in the commune of Foussais-Payré. During 3 hours of walking on a course of approximately 12 km. This route, very pleasant, goes along a dozen ponds and connects the Old Pouzauges to the wood of Cibretière. The departure of the circuit takes place on the banks of the Lake of Chausselière, very close to the camp-site. The itinerary of Les Etangs is marked in yellow and numbered 6.

The hike Rivers and Abbey

This loop, starting from the place of the Town Hall of Montaigu, is a very touristy hike of 25 km which represents on average 6 hours of walking. The route is marked in yellow and is numbered 7. On the way, you will discover a very rich heritage such as the Montaigu dike, the Durivum, the Maison de la Rivière but also the Abbaye de Meslay.

In order to obtain more information on these various hikes, do not hesitate to ask for more information at the Tourist Office or at the reception of our camping Lac de la Chausselière.

Try hiking by scooter or bike

Our establishment Flower Camping Lac de la Chausselière offers you the rental of electric scooters to go for a ride around the campsite from April to the end of September. The rental is open to all: customers and people outside the campsite.

Our electric scooters are easy to handle, fun and quiet.

You can also rent bicycles to ride around the paths around the Lac de la Chausselière. For more information, do not hesitate to stop at the reception of the campsite.
